Drawing with oil pastels – autumn forest

autumn forest, steps of an oilpastel drawing

If you like to go “Plein Air light” oilpastels are the medium of choice.
This little colour study of the autumn forest was done on a piece of paper with a thick cover of oil paint on it.
I liked to use this type of coloured support because there will be no “white spots” peaking through the oil pastel marks and because I like that the structure of the oil paint interferes with the oilpastels.

While I was sitting immersed in my humble sketch I was disturbed by the sound of breaking twigs and rustle of leaves..
a herd of wild boars passed me by in 30 meters distance.
The biggest boar took the lead, in total there were nine of them, the smallest one following at the end.
