It amazes me how many hunting perches we have in the woods over here. No matter where you can see a hunting perch every 300 meters or so, not to speak of those ruins that lie around decaying slowly. This one obviously has been rebuilt. The place around was made up almost like a workshop.
Temperatures had gone down, the sky was in dull grey and there was even a little bit of snow falling. The gouache colors dry very slowly at such conditions. Therefore working wet in wet is a must, whether you like it or not. I took a few shots with my mobile camera to document the progress of this sketch.
